ARCHBISHOP GOES CAMPING FOR PEACE IN THE MIDDLE EAST!

Much has been made of the Archbishop of York's fast for peace in York
Minster last week.
Many people from the Christian community, other religious communities, and those of no belief have supported his actions, although there have been a few criticisms about the political nature of the Archbishop's comments during the week.
However, what cannot be argued is that the Archbishop is living his faith. He used the power of prayer and he made an important gesture, which attracted attention and could have provided encouragement for others to take action. As for whether he has overstepped the mark with regards to the political comments he made, there is an awkward distinction to be made here. What might be too political for one person may be simply expressing one's faith in a political context for another person. Also, it would seem that the Archbishop's comments were not party political, which is important, or biased for political purposes. However, the Christian faith is offensive by nature (although not in the cruel sense) and that includes politics where a stand needs to be taken on an issue!
